Jesus track
If Jesus came back, appeared right there in your living room there are probably a few questions that'd run through your mind, the chief being, in my opinion, what track would you play him? Tough one eh? Anyway, it came to me the other day: Shine On You Crazy Diamond. I'm convinced it'd go down well. With a beer and also, given the occasion, I think I'd break my no spliffs in the living room rule.

I think it would have to be Shine A Light by Spiritualized
ReplyDeleteor Loaded
ReplyDeleteI think I'd kick back and play JC some Nick Drake. Or some Sabbath. It's a toss up.
ReplyDeleteLoaded. That's the one. 'Just what it is that you want to do?'.
ReplyDeleteProbably followed by Come Together- 'gospel and rhythm and blues. And jazz.'.
Hmm, Spiritualized? Sort of spiritual heirs to Pink Floyd. Sort of. But they lack the hippy vibe I'd be looking for. And the Lord lyric would be a bit direct.
ReplyDeleteLoaded, you'd have to weigh up the vibe. Does Jesus dance? Or is he one of those too cool to dance types?
Nick Drake songs are all too short for this job I think. Perfectly formed, but too short. And, when it comes down to it I've not really listened to any Black Sabbath. Just Paranoid I think. And I mean the song not the album. If I were going to go down that avenue I'd pick Bat Out Of Hell.
Jazz? My gut reaction was no. But Freedom, Rhythm & Sound Vol 2 is a weekend morning favourite and I can imagine putting something from that on.
Belgian gabba circa 92. Let's see if he can dance.
ReplyDeleteI need to give this further thought and will get back to you.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Belgian gabba is, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be conducive to the telling of parables or other new testament type activities.
ReplyDeleteAnd no rush Davy, you've got until the end of the world. (Though if you can manage by tea time that'd be great.)
